Home ยป HOME LAB

Welcome to the home lab blog section of domalab.com. This section explores the options to create a personal home lab to test and learn more about new applications, platforms and their configurations. The idea is also to follow the best practices and try to mimic them where possible.

A home lab also offers the opportunity to visit new configurations and settings for the leading edge scenarios before committing changes to a Production environment.

The aim of this section is about learning and reproducing about different scenarios in our homelab trying to simulate production environments. For domalab.com articles this applies to both a Physical homelab primarily running a VMware vSphere environment and also to Virtual homelabs as a result of nested virtualisation.

Such scenarios give us the option to run a home lab in multiple ways thus exploring different virtualisation solutions in the market like Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, Nutanix AHV, KVM offerings and more.

Everything squeezed into the same Intel NUC hardware!

All the articles follow a simple format. They provide screenshots and text supporting the configurations along with examples. Within the articles also the link to pertinent resources and website where to download the latest versions of the products.

More importantly this blog wants to share with the Community. Any feedback and comments are appreciated along with suggestions for new topics and configurations we can try in our home lab.

Do you want to cover more in this home lab blog section? Contact me and will be more than happy to add even more solutions we can test in our homelab environments!
